The 2012 Aspen Songwriters Festival will be Webcast on StageIt

Benefitting Love Hope Strength and 7908 Foundations March 21 – 25, 2012

Aspen, Colorado, March 9, 2012… For the first time, music lovers from around the world can attend five nights of phenomenal shows from the third annual 7908 Aspen Songwriters Festival via live webcasts from Stageit. All performances and artist chats will be streamed live from the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colorado. Webcast ticket sales will benefit the Love Hope Strength Foundation and the 7908 Foundation.

An exciting new platform in the online music space, StageIt, created by artists for artists, gives fans a ‘front row seat’ to a backstage experience allowing visitors the opportunity to chat with other audience members while watching the show. In addition, fans can submit questions to artists during a backstage live chat session that will occur between performances.

Tickets to each show may be purchased online at www.stageit.com/AspenSongwritersFest. A complete lineup of talent and other information about the festival can be found at www.aspensongwritersfestival.com

Produced by Songwriters Hall of Fame member John Oates and the Wheeler Opera House, the 7908 Aspen Songwriters Festival will take place March 21-25 in Aspen, CO. The festival is the nation’s most intimate musical weekend where legendary writers perform side by side with the next great generation of songwriting talent. Acoustic in nature, the 7908 Festival remains committed to creating the shortest distance between the writer’s voice and the audience’s ear.

“We are so excited to add the Stageit experience to this tremendous music event,” said festival co-founder Oates. “Now fans around the world can share the magic of this incredible music and have an opportunity to participate as if they were in the venue and even backstage. This year’s lineup is spectacular.”

Artists scheduled to appear include: Oates, Sam Bush, Matt Nathanson, Blue Sky Riders ( Kenny Loggins, Gary Burr, and Georgia Middleman), Matt Scannell (Vertical Horizons), Sophie B. Hawkins, James McMurtry, Bob Schneider, JD Souther, Adam Aijala and Ben Kaufmann (Yonder Mountain String Band), Marc Broussard and many others.

Ticket purchases for the Webcast benefit the Love Hope Strength Foundation, whose ongoing mission is to build cancer centers and bone marrow donation registries worldwide, and the 7908 Foundation, supporting the future of the Aspen Songwriters Festival and its educational mission.

The Aspen Songwriters Festival is sponsored by CF Martin & Co., Inc., Levinson Jewelers, Cloud 9, Emerald Asset Advisors, LLC, Greenspoon Marder Attorneys At Law, Ocean Drive Magazine and the Colorado Tourism Office.
