Musicians You Should Know:  AMY SPEACE

Amy Speace is a once in a lifetime kind of talent.  Not only does she have a voice that leaves you mesmerized, she’s one of the best songwriters that I’ve ever heard.  Her albums, “The Killer In Me” and “Land Like A Bird” are BOTH in my top 20 favorite albums of all time.  When Judy Collins covers one of your songs, ”Weight Of The World” – that speaks volumes.

We were lucky enough to have her as an in-studio guest on Redbud Radio.  She had just played a show and came to see us around midnight, tired and weary from traveling and performing.  Yet, she proceeded to blow our minds with the songs she performed for us that night.

Let me put it this way: Since I’ve been in radio, I haven’t paid for music.  I’d  just contact the record company and/or the artist’s management and ask for radio copies.  The next day after she performed for us- I went and downloaded her last two albums from iTunes because I didn’t want to wait!

As you know, I’m not here to make the case for anyone… I just want you to be aware of some of my favorite musicians and give you the opportunity to check them out on your own.

I’ve posted links for Amy’s sites and posted several YouTube videos to give you just a taste of what the she can do.  I urge you to dig deeper and find out more… you won’t be disappointed.

“Amy Speace sounds uncannily like a 21st Century Joan Baez, her timbred voice full of genuine emotions…[Land Like A Bird] soars with salient vocals and poetic lyrics.”
